This Weekend Recon Trip is ideal for teachers interested in bringing a group of students to Mexico for a linguistic and cultural immersion experience. This brief introduction provides an opportunity for you to get to know the city and the school before you and your students commit to a course.
Brief Weekend Itinerary:
Friday evening
- Arrive in Guadalajara.
- You will be collected from the airport and introduced to your host family.
Saturday
- A taxi will bring you to Potter's for your orientation session.
- Academic Courses and City Orientation session in Potter's School.
- Tour around Guadalajara's central district.
- Dinner in a traditional Mexican restaurant.
Sunday
- Optional tour to a nearby town or specialist trips within Guadalajara.
- You will be taken to the airport.
SUMMARY OF CLASSES:
- Collection from and transport to the airport
- Introduction to your host family upon your arrival
- Meals included: Friday: dinner; Saturday: breakfast, late lunch (restaurant) and homemade dinner; Sunday: breakfast and lunch.
- Get to meet the directors and some of the teaching staff.
- Orientation session with the Recon Trip Coordinator/Director to discuss the courses we offer, alongside the educational and cultural aims of your students' trip.
- Guadalajara City Orientation materials, Excursion lists and Potter's Orientation materials.
- A 2-week contact in Mexico (once you have completed the course) to advise on topics relating to your courses at home and discuss new teaching ideas.
- Personal contact details of the Directors in case of an emergency.
SUMMARY OF HOMESTAY:
- Bedroom and bathroom
- Clean bedsheets and clean towels
- 3 hygenically prepared homemade meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- The opportunity to make friends with local people and practice your Spanish
OPTIONAL EXTRAS (additional costs):
- A 4-hour tour of Guadalajara's Historical Center, Tlaquepaque or Tonala for a truly Mexican shopping experience. One of our teachers will guide you around the area in Spanish and/or English. These tours offer unique opportunities to practice your Spanish skills in real situations with a teacher present to help you and your group.

A Weekend Recon Trip including all homestay and transportation to and from Guadalajara's international airport is US $215.00
Homestay costs:
US $15.00 per night extra (includes three meals per day: breakfast lunch & dinner)
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Transportation from school to the homestay by taxi is approx. US $5.00 per trip.
Optional tour to a nearby town on Sunday - prices on request.
